Student Union

As a student at King Edward VI College, you are at the heart of everything we do. We are proud to have an active Student Union who work very closely with both students and managers to get your voice heard and make positive change for students.

When enrolling at the college students automatically become part of the college’s students union and can therefore take part in all events throughout the year and get involved in all aspects of student leadership. We are here to help you design this environment as the perfect half way house for your future, by ensuring your voice is heard. Redesigning student voice has allowed us to develop a strong student presence in all aspects of the college, from what goes on in the classroom to meetings with the principal.

Student Union Team

Our Student Union is made up of 10 main representatives who cover a broad range of areas to support you no matter what the issue is. We are:
• President-Mahad Ahmed
• Vice President-Hannah Birch
• Learning Officers- Aleks Kuligowska and Adam Collins
• Opportunities Officers- Dan Jacques and Ryan Scates
• BME Representative- Faith Denya
• LGBTQ+ Representative- Ruby Worthington

The team is elected every year by all students to ensure fair and reflective representation and hold post for a year. Any student can run for any position in the elections and being in post is a great way to get involved and get your voice heard. There are also many other ways to get involved.

We are here to support you during your time in college in every aspect of your experience and are always up for a chat or offer any help we can. We have an office which you can drop into any time or you can contact us via our email address student.union@kecnuneaton.ac.uk or our social media accounts and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

Faculty Reps

Students are represented at subject level by a team of faculty reps who collect learning related feedback and represent the students in their faculty at college leadership meetings. They are always willing to listen and help in any way they can.

Student Ambassadors

We have a team of Student Ambassadors who attend key events such as Open Evenings, Taster Days careers conventions, provide advice and guidance at local schools, offer ‘Drop In’ sessions for students, and plan charity events and promote the college in every aspect of their work. Becoming part of the Student Ambassador team is an enriching experience.
