How to apply to King Edward VI College
Applications for 2019/20 entry will be open following our Open Events in November.
We are now accepting applications for September 2018 entry. The easiest and most convenient way to apply is online.
Before you click the Apply button please ensure you have the full information required to complete your application. Along with your own personal information you will also need the following:
a valid email address that you check regularly
all parental contact information
predicted GCSE grades for all subjects
A Level / Vocational subject choices
Once you have completed the form and sent it to us you will receive an e-mail acknowledgement (please check ‘junk’ folder if there is a delay). If you would prefer to complete a paper application, please either download a version from the website or request a copy from our Admissions team. Please note – King Edward VI College does not accept applications via UCAS Progress.
What happens next?
All applicants will have a Guidance Meeting – the meeting will take place either here at the college or in your school (depending on which school you attend). You will be informed where and when your meeting will take place by e-mail. Meeting appointments are issued approximately 1 week prior to the date, so please don’t worry if there is a delay hearing from us after acknowledgement of application, we meet with students from February to May.
The Guidance Meeting is quite informal but it is important to be well prepared for it. Please make sure you have read the prospectus and checked the entry requirements on the website for the courses you are applying for. At your meeting we will ask to see a copy of your most recent school report (or another document which gives your predicted grades).
This is the chance for us to find out more about you and for you to ask us any questions so make a note of anything you may like to ask before you come – you may forget on the day!
Upon a successful guidance meeting, you will receive, in writing, an offer of a provisional place. All offers are conditional on you achieving the college entry requirements and the entry requirements for the courses you are applying for.
Should you require additional support to attend your meeting, eg mobility restrictions, etc, please contact Shirley Axon on email@example.com
This two day event takes place this year on Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 July 2018.
You will be able to sample the courses you have applied for, meet tutors and fellow students, get a feel for the college and find your way around the college buildings. You will have a taste of college life and experience the support and facilities we have to offer.
Tuesday 28 – Thursday 30 August 2018 – Exact date/time to enrol will be e-mailed to you. By this time you will have your GCSE results (issued on Thursday 23 August) which you will need to bring with you to help with discussions on your final choice of subjects to study with us.
Wednesday 5 – Friday 7 September 2018 (week before Start of Term) – Exact day of required attendance to be advised with your enrolment appointment – All students who have enrolled with us are expected to attend one of these very important days.
This is when you will receive your welcome pack, meet Personal Tutors, be given instructions about logging onto computers and access to resources, and get information about support structures and facilities within the college.
Please note: all correspondence from the college will be via e-mail so please check your e-mails regularly.
