Assessment:
Assessment is via two exam papers, which test reading and writing ability. There is NO coursework or controlled assessment element. Speaking and listening tasks will be completed and filmed, but will not count towards the final grade

Overview:

This is a shortened course designed for those who do not yet hold a C grade in English or English Language. The main examinations are taken at the beginning of June. Please note that we offer only the English Language qualification. This enables students to experience and analyse a range of types of language, which will develop students' analytical and communicative skills.
College entry requirements
1 Year
Successful students may be able to access A Levels which require GCSE Grade C in English Language.
This qualification is essential for entry to Higher Education and professional careers and is therefore compulsory for all college students who do not hold a GCSE grade C or above in English or English Language.
