Overview:

This course is both practical and current in its content and will suit anyone who has successfully completed their A ‘Levels (or equivalent) and wishes to further their understanding of the business world. The units covered will provide an excellent grounding in different areas of business, for example in teamwork and leadership and in project management. All units reflect the current business world around us and will combine practical elements where applicable, with understanding of the theories and strategies behind each topic. As a new course in 2016, employer links and trips are being investigated however cannot be confirmed at this stage.
Minimum College Entry Requirements (5 A*-C or equivalent) and 2 A level passes (or BTEC Merit or above) in related area.
One year. The course will be approximately 12 hours a week, studying 2 units at a time for 4 x eight week periods. You are expected to work a recommended 10 hours a week on top of this outside of College. There will be a dedicated HNC room with resources; a list of further resources will be made available to you.
All Level 4 courses have tuition fees which are reviewed on an annual basis. Please contact the College for further information. Student loans are available in the same way as for University.
Some student choose to extend their studies after the HNC and complete an HND (Level 5) or go to University to gain the full Honours degree. You are advised to contact the University of your choice to check the exemption situation for the course you wish to do. Most will exempt year 1 at University, subject to your degree choice. Alternatively the Level HNC provides certification as a stand-alone qualification.
The course will be taught by highly experienced business teachers who can bring the real world in to sessions from their practical and extensive industry experience.
