Netball Academy

Thinking of coming to KEC and want to play sport alongside your academic studies? Then the Sports Academy is for you!

The King Edward VI College Sports Academy is a development scheme dedicated to sports training and education. Each academy is designed to give aspiring young players the chance to develop their skills through high quality day time coaching whilst also gaining recognised sport-related academic qualifications.

The Netball Academy is endorsed by Warwickshire Netball. Day-time coaching is delivered by fully qualified County coaches. Matches will take place every Wednesday in which the Academy team compete in the Regional AoC League throughout the year, as well as compete in the AoC Regional/National championships. Students may also have the opportunity to be entered on to the England Netball Level 1 coaching award.

How does the Academy work?

Academy players will have a timetable with the coaching and playing sessions built in. This enables students to study on a full-time vocational course and play for the Academy team without having to miss key lecture time.

They support the students in developing their knowledge in many areas and the skills that will enable them to progress into Higher Education or a career playing/ working in the sport industry.

Costs

Enrolment onto any of the Academies is free but students will be expected to purchase College Sport kit needed for their academic courses.
